It seems that the number of homicides is going up in Baltimore, Maryland, recently, and even Black Lives Matter is starting to notice all the black-on-black crime. In fact, a few anti-cop residents recently called police when thugs started showing up dead in their neighborhood – but that’s about the time they got slapped with a priceless reply.
The entitlement mentality in this country is still out of control, despite the fact that concepts like accountability and responsibility are once again being expected from the public. However, it looks like not everyone is on board as a recent situation has proven in Baltimore.
As it turns out, residents are experiencing a spike in crime as wannabe gangbangers are being found dead all over the city. In all, over 300 people have been murdered each year for the past 3 years. Of course, it wasn’t long before residents started to call the police – but it wasn’t to attend to the deceased.
Come to find out, entitled brats all across the city are now blaming the police for not protecting them. Too bad for them, cops have since dished out a priceless response by essentially telling them, “This is what you wanted.”
We’ve seen what Black Lives Matter has been up to for the past three years. As they continue to attack cops every time a black person is involved in a police-related shooting, things have only gotten worse as the entitlement mentality was allowed to flourish under former President Barack Obama’s reign.
For those who don’t remember, Black Lives Matter made it perfectly clear that they wanted the police force done away with. In fact, they made their sentiments clear several times over.
Of course, as police morale collapsed, city officials allowed for what the thugs wanted — a lighter police footprint. Now that the BLM is seeing the adverse results of their demands, they’ve once again taken to attacking police; this time for not keeping them safe – but they’re twisting the facts.
Reverend Kinji Scott states that they never wanted police to go away. “We wanted the police there,” he insisted. “We wanted them engaged in the community. We didn’t want them beating the hell out of us, we didn’t want that.” He has since also claimed that it was only white liberals who were calling for police to leave.
The reverend’s claims also seem to fly in the face of a list of 19 demands issued by protesters in 2015, one of which demanded that police be barred from entering certain buildings or parts of neighborhoods they had designated as “safe” from police. Clearly, the protesters wanted police removed from Baltimore’s neighborhoods. But now that they’ve gotten their wish, community leaders have suddenly realized what a bad idea such a pullback is. In a recent interview, when asked whether the community wanted police to back off after the death of Freddie Gray, Reverend Scott said, “No. That represented our progressives, our activists, our liberal journalists, our politicians, but it did not represent the overall community. Because we know for a fact that around the time Freddie Gray was killed, we start to see homicides increase. We had five homicides in that neighborhood while we were protesting.”
According to NPR, he also added, “What we have seen is that the police has distanced themselves, and the community has distanced themselves even further. So the divide has really intensified, it hasn’t decreased.”
So, when police are doing their jobs, the BLM cries foul. Then, when the entitled brats are given what they want and it blows up in their face, they cry foul again. You just can’t win with some people. Maybe instead of telling the police how to deal with dangerous criminals with illegal weapons (like Freddie Gray), people like Reverend Scott should be telling members of his own community how to act like civilized members of society.
If you want people to stop dying, then you have to discourage behavior that results in death. Furthermore, maybe show a little appreciation to those who put their lives on the line to keep your communities safe rather than attack them every time that a criminal rightfully dies. The people of Baltimore got exactly what they wanted, and now, they’re whining. Maybe it’s time to look in the mirror and reassess what the real problem is here.
